I am begging you to not use this moving company. Everything seemed to be going fine in the beginning. Sales appeared to be helpful and kind, but the whole thing turned into a nightmare. It was a small one bedroom apartment moving from one coast to the other and it took almost one month and when our belongings arrived, furniture was broken boxes were wet and damaged and we had a missing box as well that has never been located full of very special belongings. The price went up after the initial quote included stairs. They just kept tacking on more money at drop off in an order to get our belongings. The money had to be paid in cashorZelle. The driver arrived late and did not have any help unloading. I have been asking for a bill of landing to make a claim and that just has been impossible to get through to anyone or get any cooperation. Please be aware before using this moving company.

Transport America Moving Series is the worst moving company I’ve ever dealt with. Their customer service is beyond terrible—unresponsive, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. They gave me an initial quote that seemed fair, but by the end, the final cost was sky-high compared to what was promised. To make matters worse, my shipment arrived damaged, and when I filed a claim as they instructed, I’ve received absolutely nothing since July 2024. They don’t honor their word, their process is a scam, and dealing with them has been an absolute nightmare. Save yourself the headache and stay far away from this company!

I rarely write an review but I'll do everything possible to prevent another person from using Transport America. They tell you they aren't a broker, yet you will find everyone moving you is a 3rd party and never heard of Transport America. Was promised a full truck with a direct shot to our destination(LIE!) They came with 2 F250s with beat up trailers (rusted and with holes). They charged us $1000+ for "extra packing materials" which was crap. They moved our furniture in the middle of the night at a Walmart parking lot into a straight rail refrigerated tractor trailer. Driver never delivered to a residence in his life. He never heard of Transport America. Was threatened multiple times by dispatch because we wanted to inspect our stuff. Told us if we didn't pay ASAP she was telling the driver to leave. So crazy stressful. Do not use Transport America. Get everything in writing w/ fees if they use 3rd parties.

I wish the reviews were accurate! This was the absolute WORST moving experience I've ever had. I was firmly told by several team members that my move, from CO to PA, was on 'a regular route' and would take 'at most 3 weeks.' The customer service rep even literally said, "I can tell you're hesitant about this" during our initial call, then aggressively focused on how this company charged less per pound than competitors to try to sway me. After pickup, I received zero communication for 3 weeks, and when I finally called I was told my things would be on the way "any day now," admitting that my items had not even left the area. When I called back at the 5 week mark and asked about financial restitution due to the service I hired them for not being provided, they ~magically~ called me the following day to say my things would be coming in 6 days. Surprise, it was even longer due to a belt breaking on the delivery truck, which was operated by a separate contractor who didn't seem to know how Transport America functioned.

In all, it took 6 WEEKS for my things to arrive, and the contractor who delivered my things was also terrible -- they tried to get me to send my final payment to a random phone number I didn't know (this was only resolved when I called TA directly and was insistent that I would only be paying the company I actually hired), offered me multiple random items that were NOT mine from the truck which were mixed in with my belongings which they said 'were probably from the last stop' (because they didn't feel like actually returning them to their rightful owners?), and were going to forget 5 of my boxes until I checked a detailed inventory I had and insisted on looking into the truck myself to point out my items (at which time I witnessed them break someone else's lamp). Nearly all of the plastic bins I moved with came broken and/or punctured, and a vintage stoneware trivet of my grandmother's arrived shattered. Luckily, I moved as a single person with a 1BR, but I cannot fathom the thought of a family moving with this company, going without all of their possessions for 6 weeks, and then having many of their items arriving damaged. Please, do yourself a favor and hire another company!

If you have items that are sentimental to you, things that cannot be replaced or recreated, do NOT use this moving company. I truly did not understand the risk I was taking when I hired them for a cross country move. They lost the scrapbooks I have been building for my 3 kids since before they were born. Those books had their little hospital bracelets, a lock of hair from a first haircut, sonograms. They lost my childhood photos that included memories of my father who has passed away. I have been instructed to "file a claim" that will pay out 60 cents per pound. A few dollars for a lifetime of memories is all I can recoup? If this was the only box that was lost, I would struggle but would see that some loss can be expected in a move like this. But they "lost" HALF of my load. How can that be acceptable?

It took 10 weeks for them to deliver half of my load. They offered me a discount for the delay in exchange for me removing bad reviews. I filed a complaint with the BBB, but that won't be published until the issue is resolved. My husband put a review on BBB, and the company responded with a nasty tone and downplayed our loss. They want us to look like the bad people that want something for free. No, I want them to complete the job they were paid for. I want other people to know how one sided these contracts are. I was sold a service but what I got was a nightmare.

My advise to anyone looking to move. Pack your stuff into a pod like container that can be shipped to your door on a guaranteed date. Hire workers to move the boxes in and out, but don't trust a moving company. Know that the reps that call you are sales people that will use lots of tricks to win your business.

We used Transport America to move about 350 cubic feet of furniture, etc to NYC for my daughter. Mark was great to work with and upfront about timing and getting a smaller amount of goods to NYC. What I thought was super great was they did 2 stops for us (one to another sibling)in NYC along with having to go up 3 flights of stairs for a really reasonable price! Everything arrived in perfect condition—and nothing was missing. But you need to keep in mind that when you are moving smaller quantities of goods across country- the shipment has to be combined with others and that is why you get a good price. :). And in case anyone wants to purchase additional insurance, I found going through Progressive insurance (we got a renter’s policy) was so inexpensive. They will begin coverage on the day you purchase it and will cover the move too. So far the best way to get full coverage at a great price.

What a wonderful experience it was working with this company. I have always done my past moves myself in a rental truck. This time around I was moving out of state and just did not have the motivation to do it. Rental trucks are really expensive these days too. I went online searching for long distance movers and found Transport America Moving Services. They had great reviews and ratings so I contracted them for my move. I couldn't be happier of my decision to hire them. All I had to do was pack up my boxes and they took care of everything else at pick up and delivery. They also transported my vehicle for me so my family and I could fly rather than driving across country. The whole process from start to finish was just a pleasure. 5 stars for this company!!

I recently used Transport America Moving for a long-distance move, and I cannot recommend them highly enough! From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and stress-free, thanks to their incredible team. My representative, Mark was fantastic to work with. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure all my questions were answered and every detail was handled perfectly. The moving team was equally amazing!! They were professional and clearly experienced, which gave me total peace of mind during a normally stressful process. Everything arrived in perfect condition, and the team even took the time to make sure everything was placed exactly where I wanted it in my in each room. I’m so glad I trusted them with my move and will absolutely use them again in the future. 5 stars all the way!

I don't know where to start. First the brought a smaller truck, so then i had to pay more, then when they finally delivered my stuff it was in an even smaller truck! EVERY piece of furniture was broken! We are a military family, so we are used to moving and things breaking, it happens, but EVERY piece! then they got more money out of me to bring the rest of my stuff. once it was all said and done, there was stuff missing. So i filed a claim. All i needed from Mark was a officially signed email saying they looked but could not find my stuff. He NEVER sent the letter, then flat out stopped taking my calls! Terrible service!! DO NOT Recommend!
